PSL 2024 Schedule: Start Date, First Match, Final Date & Venues For Pakistan Super League Season 9

With just under a month to go for the window to open, cricket fans were eagerly waiting for the schedule of the Pakistan Super League - PSL 9 or PSL 2024, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released the official schedule on Friday (January 12).

In fact, the excitement about the ninth season started when the draft was held last year as the six teams finalized their squads for the upcoming season 9, which is set to be held across four venues like last season.

The six teams that will compete in the 2024 PSL are: Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans and Islamabad United.

Each team will play against every other team in double round-robin format in the league stage with the top four teams qualifying for the playoff stage of the tournament. The playoffs will be divided into four matches: Qualfier, Eliminator 1, Eliminator 2 and Final.

The Qualifier will see the top two teams battle with the winner earning a direct entry into the final, and the loser entering the Eliminator 2, where they will face the winner of Eliminator 1, which will be contested by the third and fourth placed teams.

The Pakistan Super League, which is into it's ninth season, is always held in the February-March window, and the pattern remains the same again in 2024. So, when is the season starting and which team will play the opener? Here is all you need to know about PSL 2024 schedule:

When is PSL 2024 Starting?

An official schedule has been released for the ninth season, and the start of the season will be on Saturday, February 17 and the tournament will conclude nearly a month later on March 18.

Also the fixtures list reveals that the matches will be held in Multan, Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi with Peshawar missing out on hosting the matches despite the owner Javed Afridi's keeness in hosting several matches for PSL 9.

Which teams will play the PSL Season 9 opener?

The PSL 2024 campaign opener will be played between defending champions Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday, February 17.
