Prior dismisses Kieswetter threat to his ODI place

London, June 27(ANI): England wicketkeeper Matt Prior has dismissed speculations that his one-day career is over with Craig Kieswetter replacing him in the five-match ODI series against Australia.

Worcester's Steve Davies is also pressing hard, but Prior insists that he will make a comeback soon.

"It's quite funny hearing people say I won't play any more one-day cricket. Nothing could be further from the truth. At the minute it's all about me playing well at Sussex and trying to get back into the team," The Sun quoted Prior, as saying.

"I certainly hope my ODI career isn't over. I'm only 28. I feel that I have a long time to go in my career," he added.

Prior, who thrashed 117 from just 55 balls as Sussex beat Glamorgan in the Friends Provident T20 on Wednesday, further said that till the time he is consistent with his performance he is not worried about his place in the team.

"I have a huge amount of belief in the performances I have put in for England and I still have a lot to offer. That's what I focus on," Prior said.

"So, long as I'm taking catches and scoring hundreds there should be no need for anyone to come in and take my Test place," he added. (ANI)
