PCB renames PPL as T20 Super League

Lahore, Jun 22 (UNI) The PCB has renamed the Pakistan Premier League (PPL) as Twenty20 Super League, chairman Nasim Ashraf said.

''We have had meetings with two international companies interested in the event and we are confident international companies will buy franchises in the Twenty20 league,'' Ashraf told mediapersons after a meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) governing body here yesterday.

The PCB is hoping to stage the inaugural Twenty20 Super League in September next year.

The tournament is Pakistan's answer to the hugely successful Indian Premier League (IPL).
