PCB not to seek apology from West Indies
Lahore, July 18 (UNI) Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided against seeking an apology from the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) or Jamaican Government regarding Bob Woolmer's death.
According to PCB Chairman Nasim Ashraf Pakistan was not the only team that was investigated in that case.
''Even the West Indian skipper Brian Lara was also finger printed and DNA tested,'' he said in an interview to Voice of America.
''We have closed the chapter by not asking for an apology or taking any legal recourse because we wanted our players to remain focused on cricket.'' Ashraf said the Jamaican government has launched an official inquiry into the way the investigation was handled and the Pakistan cricket fraternity would wait and see what happens.
''I have also thanked the Jamaican Prime Minister for helping the Pakistan team during their stay in Kingston,'' he said adding ''yes the fact remains that our players went through a lot of trauma and unjustified embarrassment but other teams were also finger printed and DNA tested that also included Brian Lara.'' ''The international media has supported Pakistan by saying that team was subjected to excessive treatment.'' he added.
