PCB Chief selector hints at changes for India tie

Karachi, July 1 (UNI) After two back to back losses in the super four stage of the ongoing Asia Cup, Pakistan may make some changes to their squad for the crucial match against arch-rivals India here tomorrow.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief selector Salahuddin Ahmed stated that the performance of some senior batsmen was not up to the mark during the 64-run loss to Sri Lanka on Sunday and hinted at a couple of changes for the match against India.

''The performance of the Sri Lankans was one of their best.

(Whereas) I noticed some senior (Pakistan) players did not play according to the demand,'' Ahmed was quoted as saying by the 'Dawn'.

''We have to meet on Tuesday to discuss the final selection and a couple of changes could be made,'' he added.

Though he did not mention the names of the senior players there are speculations that Shahid Afridi, and left-arm medium-pacer Wahab Riaz would face the axe while regular opener Nasir Jamshed and pacer Abdul Rauf would be included.
