Sri Lanka were far from their best in the opening encounter, where the Salman Ali Agha-led Pakistan unit dominated across departments. Apart from a late flourish from Janith Liyanage, the hosts had very little to take away from that outing. The home side will need a quick reset if they want to square the series and avoid a defeat on their own turf.

Pakistan, meanwhile, looked assured even without several big names in their playing XI. Their bowlers dismantled the Sri Lankan batting order for a modest total and the chase that followed was smooth and controlled, highlighting their depth and discipline. Another strong performance on Sunday would see them return home with a well-earned series victory.

Conditions in Dambulla could once again make things interesting. The pitch tends to offer plenty to the bowlers early on, but dew is expected later in the evening, which may influence the captain's decision at the toss. Although chasing hasn't historically been easy at this ground, the presence of dew could ease batting in the second innings as bowlers might struggle for grip.
