Pakistan confirm one-day matches in Abu Dhabi
KARACHI, Apr 21 (Reuters) Pakistan and Sri Lanka will play three one-day internationals in Abu Dhabi from May 9, a Pakistan Cricket Board official said today.
''The series has now been confirmed and given clearance by the International Cricket Council,'' Zakir Khan, director cricket operations, told Reuters.
The series in the UAE will be Pakistan's first international foray after their early exit from the World Cup following defeats to hosts West Indies and Ireland.
A day after losing to Ireland, Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer was pronounced dead in Jamaican hospital and investigators are treating his death as murder.
Sri Lanka have qualified for the World Cup semi-finals and face New Zealand in Jamaica next Tuesday.
Abu Dhabi last year hosted two one-dayers between Pakistan and India.
