CWG: 2nd Nigerian athlete fails drug test

New Delhi, Oct 12: Commonwealth Games President Mike Fennell has announced that a second Nigerian athlete has failed a doping test on the 9th day of the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

Fennell on Tuesday, Oct 12 said Samuel Okon who was a finalist in the 110-meter hurdles last Friday, Oct 8 was tested positive for the banned stimulant Methylexanemine.

It was the same substance that Osayomi Oludamola, the women's 100 meters champion at the Commonwealth Games was tested positive on Monday, Oct 11.

Mr Fennel says “we ourselves are concerned with the number of incidents that have cropped up with this substance."
