New Zealand win toss, bat first against Australia

SYDNEY, Jan 21 (Reuters) New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first in the fifth tri-series one-day international against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground today.

Australia made two changes to the team that beat England in Brisbane on Friday with captain Ricky Ponting returning at the expense of Brad Hodge and fast bowler Stuart Clark replacing Mitchell Johnson.

New Zealand made two changes to the side that lost to England in Hobart on Tuesday with Michael Mason replacing injured paceman Shane Bond and batsman Hamish Marshall coming in for off-spinner Jeetan Patel.

Teams: Australia - Adam Gilchrist, Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke, Andrew Symonds, Mike Hussey, Cameron White, Brett Lee, Stuart Clark, Nathan Bracken, Glenn McGrath.
