New Zealand crush Australia by 10 wickets
WELLINGTON, Feb 16 (Reuters) New Zealand crushed Australia by 10 wickets in the first Chappell-Hadlee one-day match in Wellington today.
Shane Bond captured five wickets for 23 runs as New Zealand bowled the Australians out for just 148 inside the 50 overs.
Mike Hussey top-scored for the visitors with 42.
New Zealand reached their victory target with 23 overs to spare, skipper Stephen Fleming ending on 70 not out and Lou Vincent hitting Mitchell Johnson for six to seal the win and finish unbeaten on 73.
The teams meet in the second match of the series in Auckland on Sunday and the third and final game will be played in Hamilton on Tuesday.
