Musharraf turns down PCB Chairman Ashraf's resignstion

Lahore, Mar 30 (UNI) Nasim Ashraf will continue as Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board after President Prevez Musharraf today rejected his resignation.

The PCB chairman had tendered his resignation after the Inzamam-led team were shocked by minnows Ireland resulting in their early ouster from the ongoing World Cup in West Indies.

However, Dr Ashraf had made it clear that he would continue as the Chairman if Patron-in-Chief Musharraf wanted him to do so.

Dr Ashraf said that issuance of PCB constitution and revamping of Pakistan cricket would be his top most priority.

The entire national selection committee resigned and skipper Inzamam ul-Haq also announced his retirement from one day cricket after Pakistan's humiliating loss to rank outsiders Ireland.
