Mohali beat Jalandhar by innings and 101 runs

Chandigarh, May 13 (UNI) Mohali defeated Jalandhar by an innings and 101 runs in the Punjab Inter-District under-17 Cricket Tournament for Markan Trophy at the PCA Stadium here today.

Batting first Mohali made 255 for 9 in 95 overs. Nitin (40), Rahul Mankotia (45) and Harpreet Singh (54) were the main scorers. Yosgesh Kumar was the most successful bowler for Jalandhar as he captured three wickets for 69 runs.

In reply Jalandhar were dismissed for a paultry total of 68 runs in 21.3 overs. Nitish (29), Abhishek Gupta (22) and Siddharth (18) played definant knocks. Harpreet Golu destroyed Jalandhar by claiming six wickets for six runs. He was well supported by Mohit Bedi (3 for 36).

Following on, Jalandhar fumbled again against the bowling of Harpreet Singh (6 got 35) and Harpreet Golu (3 for 35) as the visitors were dismissed for 86 in 50 overs. Golu returned the best match figure of 9 for 41.
