Manmohan Singh congratulates Indian cricket team on Asia Cup victory

New Delhi, June 25 (ANI): Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh on Friday congratulated the Indian cricket team on their winning the Asia Cup.

In a message before his departure for Toronto to attend the G20 Summit, Dr Singh said: The players displayed team spirit and fighting qualities in bringing the laurels to the country".

India defeated defending champions Sri Lanka by 81 runs in a rather one-sided final of the tournament at Dambulla on Thursday.

Batting first, India put up 268 for six and then bowled out the hosts for 187 in 44.4 overs. (ANI)
