LSG vs CSK, IPL 2026: Akash Singh reveals Note after Samson, Gaikwad Wicket, Takes a Dig at Lucknow?

In a dramatic powerplay at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on May 15, Lucknow Super Giants pacer Akash Singh stunned Chennai Super Kings with two quick wickets and a quirky celebration that lit up the IPL 2026 contest.

LSG captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to bowl first in this must-win clash for playoff-hopeful CSK. The left-arm seamer struck immediately, removing CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad for 13 off 9 balls in the 3.5th over. Gaikwad miscued a pull to mid-on, handing Akash his first scalp.

Just 1.8 overs later, Sanju Samson - CSK's wicketkeeper-batter - fell for 20 off 20, whipped straight to deep square leg off Akash's back-of-length delivery. The crowd erupted as Akash, 23, pulled out a small celebratory "chit" or note from his pocket after both dismissals.

He pointed to his head while flashing the paper, leaving commentators and fans guessing its contents - perhaps a motivational message or personal mantra. The unique gesture, repeated twice in quick succession, went viral on social media.

"#Akki on Fire - Akash knows how to take wickets in T20 game," it wrote on Akash's note.

The left-arm pacer is playing his first match for the Lucknow Super Giants this season. The 24-year-old played three matches last season for LSG, and picked up 4 wickets for them.

Akash finished with impressive figures of 3/26 in four overs, rattling CSK's top order on a tacky pitch. At the halfway stage, CSK are reeling at 94/3 after 12.2 overs, with Urvil Patel and Kartik Sharma attempting a rebuild.
