Lawyers' World Cup Cricket begins

Hyderabad, Dec 30 (UNI) The first ever Lawyers' World Cup Cricket was inaugurated by Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan at Rajiv Gandhi international cricket stadium here today.

Besides hosts India, teams from England, Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Pakistan are taking part in the championship.

As part of the inauguration, a friendly match of ten overs was played between Judges Eleven and Advocates Eleven led by Justice Abhijit Prasad and Supreme Court senior Advocate L Nageshwar respectively.

Advocates Eleven, which made 53 for the loss of five wickets, defeated Judges Eleven by 21 runs.
