Lara still doubtful for tomorrow's match

Chennai, Jan 26 (UNI) West Indies captain Brian Lara today indicated that there was still an element of doubt about his playing in the third ODI against India at the M A Chidambaram stadium here tomorrow.

Addressing a joint press conference with team manager and former skipper Clive Lloyd before his team went in for net practice, Lara, who sat out in the second ODI at Cuttack due to a knee injury said, ''I can't confirm right now.'' Lara said a decision about his playing on the morrow would be taken after a long stint at the nets and some more treatment later in the night.

Talking about the chances of the team coming back into the series despite being two matches down in the four match series Lara said the morale in the team was buoyant. ''We are focused to remain in the series and this is part of our build up for the World Cup.'' Lara said the team had embarked on the tour to India to achieve certain things in the build up for the World Cup and the result in the ODIs in India may not be part of that goal.

Lara denied a suggestion that he and another left hander Shivnaraine Chanderpaul were the main stay of the team's batting.

''No,that's your opinion. We have some good young players other than me and Chanderpaul, like Samuels'', he pointed out.
