Kumble, Sehwag, Afridi to feature in Hong Kong Sixes tournament
Hong Kong, Sep 6 (UNI) India's highest wicket-taker Anil Kumble was one of the four stars, whose names were unveiled at the official launch of the Cathay Pacific Standard Chartered Hong Kong Sixes tournament here today.
Hong Kong's annual carnival of elite cricket, returns to Kowloon Club next month from October 27-28. The total prize money for the two-day event is.
Apart from Kumble, hard-hitting Virender Sehwag, who will don national duty at the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa after a long gap, Pakistan's Shahid Afridi and former Zimbabwe skipper Heath Streak would also be headlining the 285,000 dollar tournament.
Afridi considered as one of the biggest hitters in the game and Streak will be playing for the ''All Stars Team''.
Kumble, who announced his retirement from ODI cricket last month, took 566 Test wickets in his lengthy career.
He also registered his first Test century last month against England after more than 100 Test caps.
India have been grouped alogside England and New Zealand in the 'Bradman' group, while 'Sobers' group include South Africa, West Indies, Australia and the All Star Team. The third group 'Cowdrey' group will feature Pakistan, Hong Kong and SriLanka.
Last year, South Africa won the tournament beating Pakistan in the final, while India secured the third place.
