Kumble rushed to hospital after injuring finger

New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) Indian captain Anil Kumble today injured his left hand's little finger while going for a catch and was rushed to hospital during the third day's play here.

Kumble sustained the injury while he was fielding at mid-wicket and attempted a catch of Matthew Hayden off leg-spinner Amit Mishra when the batsman was batting on 70.

The Indian captain was rushed to the hospital after he suffered a half-inch deep cut on his little finger and could not bowl after that.

''Kumble has been taken to Apollo hospital and it is a deep cut. He needs a few stitches and hopefully he should be okay to bowl as it is his non bowling arm,'' said a team source.
