Kumble complains of sore shoulder

Bangalore, Oct 12 (UNI) Indians received a setback after the tail enders raised a fight back to bring the match on an even keel as captain Anil Kumble did not take the field in the Australian second innings due to a sore shoulder on the fourth day of the first Test here today.

However, the Indian team's logistic manager Russel Radhakrishnan said the shoulder injury was not serious and he was only under observation.

''The team physio has given him an ice pack and he has not gone to the hospital or anything like that. The injury is nothing serious and we have taken only a precautionary measure and he will come back one the field when pain subsides,'' he said.

Kumble came to bat after Zaheer, who justified his batting promotion by hitting a valuable 57. He had added 31 runs for the ninth wicket with Zaheer. The Indian captain, who was not much impressive during the Aussie first innings, had gone wicektless conceding 103 runs after bowling 41 overs.
