Koda promises surprise gift for Dhoni
Ranchi, Aug 9 (UNI) India's Twenty20 team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will get a surprise gift from the Jharkhand government, his home state, if the team returns with flying colours from World Championship to be held in South Africa next month.
Chief Minister Madhu Koda expressing happiness over the local lad's (fondly called Mahi) elevation as the captain said the government would give him a surprise gift if the team win the trophy.
Mr Koda last evening said Mahi after his return would be accorded a befitting felicitation for his becoming the captain.
The state government had earlier given Dhoni a plot of land in the state capital for the cricketer's 'dream house'.
However, the house under construction has run into rough weather as residents of the particular locality raised objection to the swimming pool being proposed to be constructed as par the cricketer's plan for they apprehended that water level in the area would go down due to deep boring.
