Kochi getting ready to host IPL matches

Kochi, Jan 27 (PTI) The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA)has resumed renovation work at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadiumhere, which will be hosting the home team''s matches in thefourth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The focus is on modernising the venue and improving thedrainage system.

"Effort is to provide a good drainage system, refurbishthe stadium and replace the floodlights which would cost Rs5-7 crore, KCA secretary T C Mathew told PTI.

The work is expected to be completed by February 28.

The first India-Australia ODI in October last year had tobe abandoned due to poor drainage system at the venue.
