Kieswetter will take international cricket by storm: Cook

London, Feb.28 (ANI): Big-hitting Craig Kieswetter will take international cricket by storm, believes stand-in England captain Alastair Cook.

The South African-born wicketkeeper has been a revelation on England's tour of Bangladesh and will open the batting in today's first one-dayer.

After blasting a ton on his first England appearance last week, he has made a cast-iron case for inclusion ahead of the out-of-sorts Jonathan Trott.

Matt Prior is likely to retain the gloves - for the time being at least - as England attempt to ease 22-year-old Kieswetter into top-flight action under the Mirpur lights.

After fast-tracking him into the set-up, stand-in skipper Cook reckons his new opening partner will take England's game to another level.

"We're looking forward to the World Cup next year and Kiesy has come in and made everyone stand up and take notice. He will be opening the batting. He deserves that with the runs he's got. It's amazing how quickly cricket changes in terms of selection," News of The World quoted Cook, as saying.

"But Kiesy's done fantastically well and taken everyone by surprise. International cricket is a different thing but the way he's done so far I can't see why he won't carry that on," he added.

ENGLAND (Probable): Cook (c), Kieswetter, Pietersen, Collingwood, Morgan, Prior (wk), Wright, Bresnan, Broad, Swann, Sidebottom. (ANI)
