Kapil pats Chennai Superstars, says ICL has come to stay

Chennai, Dec 22 (UNI) ICL Chairman, former India captain and all rounder Kapil Dev today said the Indian Cricket League (ICL) has come to stay.

According to an ICL administrator here, the former World Cup winning captain who arrived here this afternoon, interacted with the winners of the first ICL T20 tournament 'Chennai Superstars' and had lunch with them.

The 'Haryana Hurricane' as he was called during his playing days for his many fiery spells with the new ball for India, delivered a pep talk to them also observing that he was happy with the way the ICL was progressing.

He said he was also happy with the way the teams had played in the first edition especially with the Delhi team who despite being the underdogs finished high on the table.

However, Kapil named Chandigarh, Chennai and Kolkata as his top three favourite teams.

He also exhorted the teams to be ready for the full schedule of engagements for the next year.
