Kaneria says no to 'yummy' ICL offer
Lahore, Aug 23 (UNI) The Indian Cricket League's (ICL) propaganda of using 'money' as a means to lure cricketers received another set back after Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria rejected their tempting offer.
Kaneria, (26), yesterday turned down a lucrative offer from the multi million dollar private league for the sake of national duty.
''To me the greatest honour is to represent Pakistan and I'm always available to play for the country, Kaneria was quoted by 'The Dawn' as saying.
''Although the money offered by the ICL was tempting, but I've always maintained that the greatest pleasure is playing for your country,'' he added.
Kaneria, who is only the second Hindu cricketer to play for Pakistan -- the first being his cousin Anil Dalpat -- became the fourth Pakistani to spurn the rebel league's offer.
Dashing all-rounder Shahid Afridi and pace duo of Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif were the other Pakistani cricketers to show red signal to the ICL's luring offers.
