Jharkhand beat Tripura by 68 runs

Bhubaneswar, Feb 11 (UNI) Jharkhand defeated Tripura by 68 runs in their limited One Day Ranji Trophy match( East Zone) played at the Infosys ground here today.

Bhubaneswar which was hoisting Ranji Tropghy match for the first time saw Jharkhand beating Tripura comfortably after setting a target of 221.

Sent in to bat by Tripura,the Jharkhand team saw Manish Vardhhan and Santosh Lal taking them to a dissent total.While Manish scored 50 runs, Santosh hit 54 runs.

For Tripura, Veenit Jain had a fantastic spell of 4 for 25 in his ten over while Timir Chand claimed 3 for 47 runs.

Chasing the target, Tripura batsmen failed to build up partnership as wickets fell at regular intervals.

Monoj Singh top scored in the Tripura innings with 23 while Anshul Lamba scored 20 runs.

The Tripura batsmen failed to some excellent bowling by Sahanbaj and Arun Vidyarthi who claimed three wickets each for 20 and 17 runs respectively. Tripura were bundled out at 153 in 40.5 overs.
