Irate Pak cricket fans bay for Butt's blood

Karachi, Jan.30 (ANI): Pakistan's poor performance in both the Test and one-day series against Australia has angered cricket fans in the country.

Furious Pakistani cricket fans and young cricketers from various cricket academies here took to the streets demanding immediate removal of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt, The News reports.

The protesters chanted "Go, Butt, Go!, "President Zardari, save Pakistan cricket", and "Goodbye Pakistan cricket" as they burnt cricket bats, stumps and an effigy of Butt.

"Cricket is our love and the recent defeats have disheartened millions of fans across the country, so we demand President Asif Zardari to remove Butt, who is too old to run the board," said Amir Akram, who was leading the protest.

Pakistan suffered a humiliating 3-0 whitewash in the Test series, and has offered an inaccessible 4-0 lead to Australia in the five match series. (ANI)
