Indian Premier League Auction Live: Phil or Jitesh? Who's the new wicket-keeper?
On wicket keeping(Jitesh or Phil) batting coach Dinesh Kartik said: "I think it is a decision that we will take closer to the tournament. I think it is a discussion that we need to have and see who is the better fielder."
IPL Auction 2025 News Live: RCB Batting coach, Dinesh Karthik on Phil Salt Buy:
On Phil Salt, DK said: Phil Salt, what have I got to say? He is explosive. He is someone who can take on in the power play. Great attitude. Nice guy to have around in the team. Everything about him says he is the kind of guy that RCB would love to have.
IPL Auction 2025 Players News Live: RCB Batting coach, Dinesh Karthik on Jitesh Sharma Buy
On Jitesh Sharma, DK said: He is a very explosive middle -order batsman. We wanted someone who is on the fringes of the Indian team and he is right there. We have seen what he can do in the IPL. Has got areas that he can hit and RCB being a ground where you can play spin well, he comes as a very, very good option.
IPL 2025 Auction Team News Live
PBKS coach Ricky Ponting on the team's buys:
IPL Auction 2025 Live: RCB Head Coach, Andy Flower's reaction on Liam Livingstone buy
"We are very happy to get Liam Livingstone. He is a very very dangerous player obviously huge power but very versatile as well, given that he bowls legspin and offspin. So having that spin addition to our attack is really nice to secure early in the auction. And the other thing I'd say about Livingston, and I've worked with him quite a lot before, certainly at the England Cricket Academy, what I see in him is a maturing player, and some of his international efforts recently shows that he's a maturing batsman who now can change gear up and down. And his ups very high, obviously, but he can also build innings and absorb pressure when he needs to. So that's been really nice to see recently. We're really happy to get him."
IPL 2025 Auction Live Updates: Suresh Raina on PBKS acquiring Shreyas Iyer for ₹26.75 crore
"Shreyas Iyer has great batting qualities and captaincy skills, and his ability to turn games around is also a great factor about him. In the past, we've seen how his performances have made a significant impact on matches. Also, recently he scored a century in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, further showcasing his talent and consistency."
IPL 2025 Auction Live: Eoin Morgan on PBKS acquiring Shreyas Iyer for ₹26.75 crore
"Fair play to LSG, they could've limped with a timid offering but they clearly know what they want in a captain, local and world-class cricket, they see value at ₹27 cr. Punjab Kings really set up their stall early about where do they want to go, what do they want to do, was it a case of they wanted the likes of Shreyas Iyer first up and pay ₹26.75 cr for him or was it the luck of the draw. I mean if you don't pick one up, the pressure builds and mounts on who you have to go to next."
Indian Premier League Auction Live: Mohammad Kaif on LSG acquiring Rishabh Pant for ₹27 crore
"With Rishabh Pant joining LSG, the team has gained both a strong brand value and a recognisable face-an essential factor for any franchise. While LSG do not have many big names apart from Pooran, Pant's presence will significantly benefit them. The decision to jump from ₹21 crore to ₹27 crore was aggressive, but it's a move that seems justified. They now have an Indian captain, and securing Rishabh Pant at ₹27 crore is a worthwhile deal for LSG."
IPL Auction 2025 News Live: Robin Uthappa on LSG aquiring Rishabh Pant
"I think the fact that Shreyas was bid for by Punjab Kings was a planned thing, because even if they didn't go for him, because they had the luxury of having such a big bank, they could have gotten Pant for a little less. I think there was communication where Rishabh really wanted to move on from everything that was DC in the past and go on to other things in life and I think that is why there was less interest from Ponting and Punjab Kings for Pant and more interest in Shreyas."
IPL Auction 2025 Players News Live: Most Expensive Overseas Players
