IPL 2026: SRH star speaks of Luxury Batting behind Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head

Sunrisers Hyderabad delivered a complete team performance to secure a comprehensive 65-run win over the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

By posting a massive total and backing it up with a highly disciplined bowling attack, SRH proved once again why their aggressive game is so heavily feared this season.

Klaasen on the 'Abhishek-Travis' Effect

Walking out to bat at number four usually comes with the immense pressure of building or rescuing an innings, Heinrich Klaasen, speaking exclusively on JioHotstar's 'Google Search AI Mode Match Centre Live', reflected upon the sheer luxury of batting behind the Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head opening duo.

"That's the beauty of batting behind Abhishek and Travis, when you walk in and the run rate is already at 14 or 15, you don't feel the need to start swinging straight away. But we've learned from our mistakes over the last couple of years, and it allows you to settle in first and catch up later instead of forcing it from ball one," Klaasen said while speaking to Jio Hotstar.

What the Experts Say

So, how exactly did SRH dismantle a solid KKR unit after the mammoth target was set? The experts gave their in-sights on the tactical shifts and standout performances that decided the game.

Speaking exclusively on JioHotstar's 'Google Search AI Mode Match Centre Live', JioStar expert Harbhajan Singh noted how SRH seamlessly transitioned from batting dominance to bowling pressure:

"Winning is what matters, and Sunrisers Hyderabad executed their template really well. They batted with freedom, put a big total on the board, and then kept building pressure with the ball. The pitch slowed down, and their spinners used that really well. There were a few moments, like the run-out during a good partnership, where the game could have shifted, but the turning point was Nitish Reddy getting Rinku Singh out. From there, chasing such a big total became very difficult. Overall, they ticked all the boxes - strong batting, timely wickets, and sustained pressure."
