IPL 2026: Riyan Parag scores IPL Fifty after 362 Days; Ashwin and Social Media Erupts with Love for RR captain
Riyan Parag has delivered a big score after many innings in the ongoing IPL 2026 match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals on Friday (May 1).
Paired with Dhruv Jurel, Parag forged a game-changing 102-run third-wicket partnership off 59 balls, rescuing RR from top-order wobbles. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi departed early, but Parag has been excellent so far, returning among runs.

Parag scored a scintillating fifty, and is currently batting on 63 off 38 balls, with 3 fours and 5 sixes. The Assam-born batter has forced the Royals into a decent position, as they are 119 for 3 in the 13th over.
Parag has been hugely criticized for lack of runs this season. The 24-year-old has struggled to score and got dismissed cheaply across the first half of the season. But his return to form is a big boost for RR, who are sitting 4th in the table and have playoff aspirations.
During the match, RR batting coach Vikram Rathour heaped praises on Parag and mentioned that they knew a big innings from the captain was on the way.
"He is too good to miss out for so long. We knew that it's only a matter of time," he said during the match while taking with the commentators.
RR vs DC: Social Media Erupts for Riyan Parag
The social media also erupted after Riyan Parag got to his first fifty, which came after 362 days. His last 50+ score came against KKR on May 4 in 2025, when he scored 95 off 45 deliveries.
Riyan Parag was involved in a controversy as he was caught vaping in the dressing room. Since that, the player was also fined by BCCI.
Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has also hailed Parag, saying he is a special cricketer.
