IPL 2025 Schedule: Start Date, End Date & Venues For Indian Premier League Season 18

With IPL 2025 just a few weeks away from a start, cricket fanatics await the schedule, especially the start dates and the end dates as well as the venues for the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League.

The anticipation for the new season started immediately after the IPL 2024 final in which Kolkata Knight Riders led by Shreyas Iyer defeated Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad to clinch their third IPL title.

IPL 2025 Schedule

The buzz around the 2025 season picked up even more pace once the retention lists were finalized and the 10 teams assembled their squads at the two-day mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

IPL 2025 will see ten teams battle for the title. The 10 teams part of IPL 2025 are CSK, GT, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, and Kolkata Knight Riders.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to release the official schedule in the next few days. The IPL 2025 schedule is reportedly set to be announced ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025, which gets underway on February 19. But before that there has been rumours of IPL 2025 start date and IPL 2025 final date.

When is IPL 2025 starting and ending?

BCCI released the IPL window for the next three years (2025 to 2027) last year, but the actual start date is likely to vary from the originally announced date of March 14 as that was just the start of the window.

IPL 2025 start date and end date: According to a report in CricBuzz, the 18th edition of the lucrative league will commence on Saturday, March 22nd and close with the final on Sunday, May 25 with both the matches scheduled to take place at the home of the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

Which teams will play in IPL 2025 season opener?

The CricBuzz report further suggests that - Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore will open the season at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 22, 2025, while last season's runner up Sunrisers Hyderabad will host Rajasthan Royals in the second match, an afternoon start on March 23 in Hyderabad.

IPL 2025 Venues List

The report further added that the season will be staged in 12 different venues in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Mullanpur, Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata and Hyderabad, the traditional homes of the franchises, while this season's matches will also be played in Guwahati and Dharamsala.

  • Kolkata - Eden Gardens (KKR home venue)
  • Lucknow - BRSABV Ekana Stadium (LSG home venue)
  • Mullanpur - Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium (PBKS home venue)
  • Mumbai - Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai Indians home venue)

Guwahati, which served as second home to Rajasthan Royals, will once again stage matches this season with the inaugural champions hosting KKR and CSK in the North-East city within the first ten days from the start of the tournament..

While Dharamsala will host three home games of Punjab Kings, the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator will be held at the Uppal in Hyderabad with the Qualifier 2 and, the title clash set to be staged in Kolkata in May.
