IPL 2025: BCCI To Announce Complete Schedule Before Champions Trophy- Report

IPL 2025: With the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is reportedly set to commence on March 21, 2025, cricket enthusiasts worldwide are eagerly awaiting the release of the full tournament schedule.

While the official fixtures are yet to be announced, as per a report by Sports Tak that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to unveil the complete schedule within the next week, which in all likelihood before the commencement of the Champions Trophy.

The report further added that two franchises will play their home matches at alternate venues. Delhi Capitals (DC) will host two of their home games in Visakhapatnam, while Rajasthan Royals (RR) will also play two of their home matches at a neutral venue, which is yet to be confirmed.

Earlier, IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla confirmed that the tournament will begin as scheduled on March 21 with grand celebrations. The final is expected to take place on May 25. Reports indicate that the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad will host the first two playoff matches, while Eden Gardens in Kolkata will be the venue for the second playoff and the grand finale.

A major development for IPL 2025 is the alignment of the league with the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Code of Conduct regulations. Unlike previous seasons, where the IPL had its own disciplinary rules, the tournament will now follow ICC's global guidelines that govern all major T20 leagues.

Coming to the mega auction, Rishabh Pant made history by becoming the most expensive player in IPL auction history, fetching a whopping ₹27 crore. He was followed by Shreyas Iyer (₹26.75 crore) and Venkatesh Iyer (₹23.75 crore), both of whom secured lucrative deals.

As the countdown to IPL 2025 continues, fans can expect an exciting season filled with high-intensity action, marquee clashes, and thrilling performances. With the official schedule set to be released soon, the anticipation for another electrifying edition of the league is at an all-time high.
