IPL 2025: Ambati Rayudu 'Happy' in CSK Misery this Season, tells to 'Move On' from MS Dhoni Indirectly?
Amid the dismal outing in the IPL 2025 season, Chennai Super Kings are rapidly losing not just their playoff hopes, but their trusted allies as well.
Throughout the season, former India player Ambati Rayudu has been vocal for the Super Kings. He has often spoken highly of MS Dhoni and has garnered a lot of support from the CSK fans.

But after the defeat against SRH on Friday (April 25), Rayudu also turned his back on the Super Kings and expressed his frustration. The former CSK player, who won the title with them in 2023, blamed the franchise for being lacklustre in future investments.
"I know it is lowest of lows, but it is also great learning for CSK because if you sit back on your laurels and do not really have an eye on the future, this is what can happen. So from here on, they will be very, very vigilant of the fact that going forward, you have to move on with the times, you have to move on with the game, and there is a lot of learning," Rayudu said on Star Sports after the match.
He also took Dhoni's reference and said the franchise must move on from their past names. But was it an indirect admission that the Super Kings may also need a new dynamic leader instead of going back to their old fox?
"Even MS Dhoni has said that the game has moved on and I am sure he also must be thinking we have to form a team for next year, " he added.
Apart from that, Rayudu praised the CSK duo Dewald Brevis and Ayush Mhatre - who have shined since being roped in mid-season. The former CSK star also expressed his relief for this poor season for the Super Kings, and he believes it was necessary for them to realize the ethos of the game of cricket.
"We have seen some real shining lights in the batting order at least in terms of Brevis and Mhatre. So that is some real positives for CSK and I am just happy that a season like that had to come for them to get grounded and realise the fact that this game is bigger than anything, you need to really stick to the basics and also acknowledge the fact that we are never bigger than the game of cricket," he concluded.
