IPL 2017 Auction: Meet the 10 costliest players
New Delhi, Feb 20: English cricketers led by all-rounder Ben Stokes and pacer Tymal Mills turned out to be the hottest purchases at the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction here on Monday (Feb 20), which also saw No. 1-ranked T20 International bowler Imran Tahir and India pacer Ishant Sharma failing to find any takers.

Rising Pune Supergiants (RPSG), who removed Mahendra Singh Dhoni from captaincy on Sunday, bought Stokes for a whopping Rs 14.50 crore after defeating bids from Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils (DD), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). (Top 12 unsold players)
Among the uncapped domestic players, Tamil Nadu left-arm pacer T. Natarajan emerged one of the biggest gainers -- he was sold for Rs 3 crore to Kings XI Punjab, which is 30 times his base price of Rs 10 lakh.
Rookie Karnataka spinner Krishnappa Gowtham and Rajasthan medium pacer Aniket Choudhary were sold for 20 times their base price of Rs 10 lakh. While Gowtham was bought by the Mumbai Indians, Choudhary went to RCB for Rs 2 crore.
Kerala medium pacer Basil Thampy went to Gujarat Lions for Rs 85 lakh after Rising Pune Supergiants left the bid. His base price was at Rs 10 lakh. The Gujarat franchise also roped in Rajasthan pacer Nathu Singh for Rs 50 lakh.

Ben Stokes - 14.5 crores
England all rounder Ben Stokes (Base price Rs 2 crore) was Sold to Rising Pune Supergiants for Rs 14.5 crore and went on to become costliest foreign cricketer in the history of IPL.
2. Tymal Mills
England pacer Tymal Mills (Base price Rs 50 lakhs) was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for a whopping sum of Rs 12 crore.
3. Kagiso Rabada - 5 crore
Kagiso Rabada (Base price Rs 1 crore) was picked up by Delhi Daredevils for Rs 5 crore. He will be making his IPL debut this year.
4. Trent Boult - 5 Crore
New Zealand left-arm pacer Trent Boult (Base price Rs 1.5 crore) was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 5 crore. He played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous edition.
5. Pat Cummins - 4.5 Crore
The Australia pacer Pat Cummins (Base price Rs 2 crore) was sold to Delhi Daredevils for Rs 4.5 crore. He has previously played for Kolkata Knight Riders.
6. Chris Woakes - 4.2 crore
England pacer Chris Woakes (Base price Rs 2 crore) was secured by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 4.2 crore.
7. Rashid Khan - 4 Crore
The 18-year-old Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan (Base price Rs 50 lakh) was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping 4 crore. He was the surprise pick of today's IPL auction.
8. Nathan Coulter-Nile - 3.5 Crore
The Australian pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile (Base price Rs 1 crore) was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 3.5 crore in the second round. Coulter-Nile played for Delhi Daredevils in the previous editions.
9. Karn Sharma - 3.3 crore
Talent young all-rounder Karn Sharma (Base price Rs 30 lakh) was sold to Mumbai Indians for Rs 3.2 crore. He was part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous edition.
10. Varun Aaron - 2.8 crore
India pacer Varun Aaron (Base price Rs 30 lakh) was sold to Kings XI Punjab for Rs 2.8 crore.
