IOA does away with cricketers in Delhi's bid delegation

New Delhi, Apr 11 (UNI) Brand value of cricketers has eroded so much after their flop show at the World Cup even IOA has decided to do away with them in its delegation to Kuwait for New Delhi's bid for 2014 Asian Games.

''They can't bat for themselves as of now, how could they bat for Delhi then,'' shot back an amused Suresh Kalmadi when he was asked why no cricketer was included this time in the delegation even though IOA roped in Sunil Gavaskar for winning 2010 Commonwealth Games bid.

''Lets leave alone. Everyone knows what they've been through recently. We've not included anyone in the delegation this time,'' he added.

New Delhi and Incheon compete to host the 2014 Asian Games as OCA votes on April 17 in Kuwait in the favour of either of the city.

Ace shooter Rajyavardhan Rathore, long jumper Anju George and tennis star Leander Paes will be part of the delegation that will present its bid infront of the 45-member council.
