Injured Lara looks at WI turnaround at Barabati

Cuttack, Jan 23 (UNI) Asserting that the tourists still had the psychological advantage over India going into the second ODI at Barabati, West Indian captain Brian Lara, who is a suspect start in the tie, said it could be another turnaround tomorrow.

Addressing the media here today, Lara said, ''It's a big high we reached in the last match reaching 324 chasing 338. Other teams would have given up at half time.'' ''The psychological advantage is with us. Of late we have had the upper-hand over India and hopefully tomorrow we will turnaround again,'' he said.

The calypso king further said, ''I have a left knew injury that makes me a suspect tomorrow. I will practise today and decide only tomorrow whether to play or not.'' He also informed that Dwayne Bravo, who took a knock in the field when he dived into Umpire S L Shastri standing at square-leg trying to thwart a single, might also not take the field tomorrow.

Asked if he had seen the pitch, he said, ''No I have not. But the pitches should be fair. The last match was close, but the pitch was not fair. The pitches should also aid the fast bowlers.'' The fact that the pick of the bowlers Ian Bradshaw and Jerome Taylor did not fire in the last mach played evidently on the gifted left-hander's mind.

Lara said that it was an important series before the world Cup.

''The conditions here are not very different from what we will get back home and India are a quality side. This is a very important series for us and a good built up to the Cup.'' In case he did not take the field tomorrow, then Chris Gayle would captain the side. Lara signed off saying, ''Morally we did not lose and will hopefully come back tomorrow.'' UNI
