Indianisation of cricket even if it is ICL: Dalmiya
Kolkata, July 20 (UNI) Jagmohan Dalmiya, while making clear that he had nothing to do with the Indian Cricket League (ICL), today said that anyone who was interested in 'Indianisation' of cricket will get a helping hand from him.
Talking to the media after seven months, Dalmiya, when quizzed if ICL was his brainchild, said, ''I have nothing to do with ICL. They have never approached me.'' ''But I am for Indianisation of cricket. Even when I was the ICC president and worked for globalisation of cricket, I decided to spread cricket across the country and took up 15 centres that included the northeastern states and the union territories,'' he said.
Asked if he would help the ICL if they approached him for the spread of cricket, he said, ''Its a matter of conjecture.
Hypothetically speaking if they approach I may help if they want to spread cricket across the country.'' On whether he would have approved of the ICL had he been the BCCI president, a wily Dalmiya showed he had not lost any of his finesse laughing off the whole thing, ''Now that is too much of hypothesis here.''
