Indian blind cricket team announced for England tour

New Delhi, Aug 17 (UNI) Association for Cricket for the Blind in India (ACBI) Chairman George Abraham has announced a 13-member squad for their first overseas tour of England to play five ODI's.

The team led by Manvendra Singh Patwal will play the English team for the first time in England.

Speaking to the media Manvendra said, ''Our national team is doing very well in England, we are sure of doing well too.'' ''It is a challenge for us as this is the first series we are playing abroad,'' he said.

India has played England four times earlier. The last time the two teams meet, India won the match.

Speaking on the series, Abraham said ''Our team here has great potential and each player is working hard towards another victory.

This is the first time that the Indian blind cricket team is travelling outside the sub-continent.'' The team will play all its matches at Worcester on 20th, 22nd, 23rd, 25th and 26th.

Team : Manvendra Singh Patwal (Captain), Rajendra Verma, Ketan Patel, Subhash Boya, Pushpraj, Ashish Negi, Dilip Munde, Manoj Kumar, Shekhar Naik, Joe Shibu, Fernandez, Nanji, Rakesh Prajapathi, Bishorejit Singh. Team Manger is Noor Mohamma.
