India vs India A Intrasquad Match Day 1: Two Players score Half-Centuries, Forgotten Man gets Wickets
The Indian cricket team has concluded the first day of the intrasquad four-day match behind closed doors with no shortage of events.
Played at the Beckenham ground, the Indian team are taking their final rehearsal before the five-match Test series against England, starting from June 20.

BCCI announced a closed-door match for the team, with no permission for media attendance or any sort of coverage.
On Friday (June 13) night, BCCI posted an update through their social media channels, depicting the status of the match. Although no scorecard was provided, BCCI gave snippets of the practice match along with a few images.

On the first day, the BCCI post revealed that two players have scored half-centuries. India's Test captain Shubman Gill scored a half-century, followed by KL Rahul, who continued his decent form. A visual of Rahul batting in the match also circulated on social media. The BCCI post also mentioned that Shardul Thakur grabbed a few wickets. No amount of runs or wickets was mentioned.
The likes of Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal also had their batting, but they were likely dismissed after getting a start in their innings. The intrasquad match will continue till Monday (June 16), and it is a huge test for the Indian batters, who have often struggled in English conditions.
The visitors will be led by Gill in the series, who was handed Test captaincy as Rohit Sharma retired from Tests. Along with Rohit, Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin are also retired and won't play any part in the crucial examination. Jasprit Bumrah holds key in this series for India and the pace star bowled a few overs on first day of the match.
