Australia, on the other hand, defeated India in the World Test Championship final in June. However, they lost to South Africa in the recently held five-match ODI series by 2-3 after being ahead of the Proteas in the first two games.

India will be led by KL Rahul in the absence of Rohit Sharma for the first two matches. India have also rested the likes of Virat Kohli, Kuldeep Yadav, and Hardik Pandya. Notably, they will be back in the Indian Squad for the third ODI.

Australia will also be missing the services of Glen Maxwell and Mitchel Starc, However, Steve Smith and their skipper, Pat Cummins are back in the squad, who were previously not the part of South Africa tour.
