India also beat South Africa in 2012 WC T20
This is the second time that India registered the narrowest possible victory in terms of runs in the T20 World Cup. In the 2012 edition which was played in Sri Lanka, India beat South Africa by a similar margin in the Super Eight stage at the Premdasa Stadium in Colombo.

On that occasion, India scored 152/6 and then got the Proteas all out for 151.
India also registered a five-run victory over Pakistan in the final of the inaugural edition in South Africa in 2007. In that match, India scored 157/5 and then restricted the arch-rivals to 152.
These apart, India and Pakistan also saw their match tied in the group stge of that World Cup. However, India went on to win the game in a bowl-out.
In the 50-over World Cup, however, India have lost twice by one run and both were against Australia---in the 1987 edition at Chennai and 1992 edition at Brisbane.
