India-Pak veterans cricket from Feb 25

Kozhikode, Jan 23 (UNI) Preparations are in full swing to conduct a veteran's one-day International cricket match between India and Pakistan at the Corporation stadium here on February 25.

A cricket pitch, under the supervision of curator C Snehraj, was being prepared at the stadium for the event, Kozhikode District Cricket Association secretary O K Manoharan said.

An organising committee under the chairmanship of Mayor M Bhaskaran has been formed for the smooth conduct of the match, he said adding Board for Veteran Cricket in India Vice-President J K Mahindra was overseeing the preparations.

Some of the former Indian cricketers expected to participate were: Mohammed Azharuddin, Venkatesh Prasad, Manoj Prabhakar, Nayan Mongia, Praveen Amrea, Vivek Razdan, Abey Kuruvila, Sameer Dighe and Vakatapati Raju.

Former leading Pakistani cricketers likely to take part were Waqar Younis, Abdul Qadir, Aaamir Sohail, Rashid Latif, Azam Khan, Manzoor Akhtar and Aaquit Javed, among others.
