India March Into U19 Women's T20 World Cup Semifinals With Unbeaten Streak, Beat Bangladesh By 8 Wickets
The Indian U19 Women's team, led by Niki Prasad, stormed into the semifinals of the 2025 U19 Women's T20 World Cup after an emphatic win over Bangladesh in a rain-affected Super Six Group 1 clash at the Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur.
Maintaining their unbeaten record in the tournament, India chased down a modest target of 65 in just 7.1 overs, securing an eight-wicket victory.

Bowling first, India's Vaishnavi Sharma once again showcased her brilliance with the ball, claiming figures of 3/15 in her four overs. Her consistent performances have propelled her to the top of the tournament's wicket-takers chart, sharing the lead with nine dismissals. She received ample support from her teammates, ensuring Bangladesh could only muster a below-par total.
Chasing 65, opener Gongadi Trisha got India off to a flying start, smashing 40 off 31 balls before being dismissed. Although G Kamalini departed early, Sanika Chalke and skipper Niki Prasad calmly steered India to victory without any further trouble.
The Women in Blue are now the third team to secure a semifinal spot, joining South Africa and Australia. The Proteas were the first to progress after their win against Ireland in Group 2, while Australia booked their berth with a dominant victory over the West Indies.
The Indian leads Group 1 with three consecutive wins and a superior net run rate (6.009), ahead of Australia, who also have three wins but a lower NRR (2.176). Both teams carried their group-stage points and outcomes into the Super Six, where India had earlier defeated Sri Lanka and the West Indies, alongside their win against Malaysia in Group A.
India will now face Scotland in their final Super Six fixture before heading into the semifinals, while Australia will take on Sri Lanka in their last Super Six match. With momentum on their side and all-round performances shining through, India looks poised to continue their stellar campaign in the tournament.
