IND vs SA: Don't mind playing on seaming tracks if people shut their mouth on Indian pitches - Rohit Sharma
After India won the Cape Town Test against South Africa inside two days, captain Rohit Sharma said that he would not mind playing on such pace-friendly surfaces if visiting teams keep their mouths shut while playing on spinning pitches in India.
A total of 23 wickets fell on Day 1 of the Test match as South Africa and India were bundled out for 55 and 153 runs respectively in the first Test. 10 wickets fell on Day 3 before India won the match by seven wickets. The Test lasted for 642 balls - fewest in the history of Test cricket. Not even one over of spin bowling was seen in the match.

"I don't mind playing on pitches like this as long as everyone keeps their mouth shut in India and doesn’t complain about Indian pitches. You come here to challenge yourself. And when people come to India it is challenging as well," Rohit Sharma said after the second Test match.
Rohit Sharma also lashed out at the ICC for their rating process of the pitches. He expressed disbelief that ICC poorly rated the Narendra Modi Stadium pitch which hosted the World Cup 2023 final despite Travis Head hitting a match-winning hundred on it.
"I still can’t believe that the World Cup final was rated below average. A batter got a hundred. How can that be a poor pitch?" he further added.
Rohit Sharma slams ICC match referees for their double-standards
He also minced no words on the double standards of the match referees while rating pitches. He said they are fine with the ball seaming from the opening day, but it's a problem when it starts to spin early in India.
"I would love to see the chart match referees prepare while rating pitches. We know in India ball spins from Day 1, you are not okay. When the ball seams from Day 1, you are okay. That's not okay," Sharma lashed out.
India became the first Asian team to win a Test match at the Newlands in Cape Town on Thursday. Rohit Sharma became only the second India captain after MS Dhoni to draw a Test series in South Africa.
