IND vs BAN: 'Greatest ever Indian Test wicketkeeper-batter' - Fans react to Rishabh Pant's hundred on Test comeback

IND vs BAN: Fans bowed down to Rishabh Pant after the 26-year-old hit a 124-ball hundred in his first Test match after a gap of 21 months. Pant, is playing his first Test match since his near-fatal car accident in December 2022, scored 109 runs off 129 balls in the second innings of the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai.

The sixth hundred by Rishabh Pant consisted of 13 fours and four sixes. A one-handed six over long-off, and a flat six over fine leg off pacer Hasan Mahmud were two of the many highlights of Pant's action-packed innings.

On the fourth ball of the 55th over, Pant drove a delivery from Shakib Al Hasan toward long-off and took a double to equal MS Dhoni's record for most Test hundreds by an Indian wicketkeeper-batter.

The entire stadium was on its feet as Pant took off his helmet to acknowledge the loud cheers from fans, and his teammates in the dressing room. Even Virat Kohli took time from his net session, and came to applaud the young southpaw.

The Delhi batter completed his fifty off 88 balls, but soon shifted gear, understandably after a message from the dressing room to up the ante and put Bangladesh in a run-chase at the earliest. Pant took just 36 more deliveries to complete his second fifty and a thumping comeback hundred.

Shubman Gill, who scored a 161-ball hundred himself in the match, hugged Pant, who looked a bit emotional after the hundred - his first since making a comeback with the IPL 2024 earlier this year.

Pant was caught and bowled by Mehidy Hasan Miraz as he looked to continue the onslaught. His fourth-wicket partnership with Gill accounted for 167 runs, and took India's second innings lead close to 500. Here is how Twitter reacted to Rishabh Pant's hundred vs Bangladesh in Chennai.
