Hussey has knee surgery, will miss England ODIs

Sydney, Jan 18 (AP) Cricket Australia says in-formbatsman Mike Hussey has undergone surgery for a serioushamstring injury and will be replaced by Shaun Marsh inAustralia''s squad for the ongoing seven-match limited-oversseries against England.

Australian team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris saidtoday that while Hussey''s injury appeared to be minor soonafter Australia''s win in the opening game, scans have sincerevealed he has detached a hamstring tendon from the innerside of his knee.

Kountouris said Hussey had corrective surgery today andhis availability for the next month''s World Cup in the Indiansubcontinent will depend on his rehabilitation in comingweeks.

Marsh will play the next three limited-overs matchesagainst England. (AP) CM
