Hoggard set for England test return against West Indies

LONDON, June 11 (Reuters) Seamer Matthew Hoggard has been named in England's 12-man squad for the fourth and final test against West Indies, but there is no room for Liam Plunkett in the match which starts in Durham on Friday.

Hoggard needs to prove his fitness after missing the last two tests with a groin injury. The pressure is off, though, as England have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series after winning at Old Trafford today.

Chairman of selectors David Graveney told the board's Web site today, ''Matthew has been bowling pain-free for the last few days and he will play for Yorkshire against Northamptonshire in the Friends Provident Trophy on Wednesday.

''The next step for him then will be to bowl in the nets at Chester-le-Street on Thursday and show that he is available for selection.

''If he is fully fit, he will replace Liam Plunkett in our starting line-up for the next test match.'' Plunkett failed to make the grade as a reserve, with James Anderson placed on standby as a seam bowler.
