Hogg bids farewell to international cricket

Brisbane, Mar 4 (UNI) Describing his stint with the Australian team as a 'dream', left-arm spinner Brad Hogg today bade farewell to the game after the loss to India in the CB Series finals.

''I've loved every minute of it. It's been a childhood dream and to live that childhood dream and make a living out of it is fantastic. I'm still pinching myself,'' Hogg said.

Stating that playing for the country was a honour Hogg said, ''It's been a privilege. Twelfth man has been my role, and I've been in and out of the team whether it's a spinning wicket or a seaming wicket, one way or the other I'm on or off, but I've really enjoyed it.'' The 37-year-old chinaman, who was not selected for today's game retires with 156 wickets to his name in 123 ODIs at an average of 26.84. He was also a useful lower-order batsman, scoring 790 runs at an average of 20.25.

However, Hogg retirement comes at a time when Cricket Australia (CA) is finding it hard to find quality spinners.
