Himachal rout J and K by seven wickets

Chandigarh, Feb 18 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh carved out an easy seven-wicket victory over Jammu and Kashmir in the North Zone One-Day Ranji Trophy fixture at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium here today. The win gave Himachal five points and Jammu and Kashmir had to settled for just one point from this encounter.

Jammu and Kashmir batted first and were restricted to 183 all out in 47.3 overs. All-rounder Abid Nabi top-scored with 44 which he compiled from 39 balls. His innings was studded with three fours and three sixes. Dhruv Mahajan and Majid Dhar contributed 26 and 22 runs respectively. Sarandeep Singh (3 for 31), VS Malik (2 for 41) and Jitender Mehta (2 for 42) were the most successful bowlers for Himachal Pradesh.

Needing 184 runs for win, Himachal made 184 for 3 in 39.3 overs.

Ankur Bassi (14) and Sandeep Sharma (43, 8x4s) opened the Himachal innings. Bassi was bowled by Sameer Ali (1 for 25) with scoreboard reading 41. Paras Dogra scored a brilliant unbeaten 69 with the help of six fours. MS Bisla remained not out on 30.
