Harbhajan banned for remaining IPL matches

New Delhi, Apr 28 (UNI) Fiesty off-spinner Harbhajan Singh was today banned for the rest of the IPL tournament following his altercation with speedster S Sreesanth.

After the hearing presided over by match referee Farokh Engineer here, Harbhajan was found guilty of a level 4.2 offence which refers to physical assault against another player.

According to video evidences, the temperamental off-spinner was found guilty of slapping S Sreesanth after an IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab on April 25 at Mohali.

Mumbai Indians' coach Lal Chand Rajput was also pronounced guilty of a level 2 offence and was fined 50 per cent of his match fees.

However, Sreesanth was let off with a warning.
