Gurunath guilty in IPL spot-fixing: SC panel
New Delhi, Feb 10: In a setback to Indian cricket board president N. Srinivasan, the Supreme Court-appointed Justice Mukul Mudgal Committee has held that allegations of spot-fixing and passing on inside information to the bookies against his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan stand established.
The 170-page report, filed in the Supreme Court on Monday, said Meiyappan, the son-in-law of BCCI president N Srinivasan, had fixed bets on IPL matches.
The report, however, says that more investigation is necessary against Rajasthan Royals owner Raj Kundra.
The report was prepared after recording statements of players, journalists and officials associated with IPL. The committee was formed by the apex court in October last year.
The IPL auctions for the 2014 season is scheduled to be held on Wednesday.
